When it comes to Instant Messengers, WhatsApp is unbeatable. It is certainly the most popular and successful app among all other IMs. It works on all major platforms — iOS, Android, Blackberry and Symbian over Wi-Fi or cellular data. Basically this app allows you to receive and send messages, snaps and videos for free. It is the most used IM service which is even preferred by people over Blackberry messenger and iMessage.
As clear from the above, WhatsApp is not available on the Windows Phone platform and consequently the Windows Phone users face problems when switching from any other platform to the Windows Phone. Actually WhatsApp was released for Windows Phone 7.x users but was pulled from the Windows Phone Marketplace. The developers claimed that they will be coming with a all new version of the app which would be paid-only.
Some new Snapshots for WhatsApp for Windows Phone 8 have been leaked and that too directly from the WhatsApp server (now removed) that give us a peek on how the app will look like in the Windows Phone 8. You can see the Windows Phone version of WhatsApp from their website although the previous link is not working but this will. The app looks like a refurbished version of the one which Windows Phone 7 had and it is supporting the live tiles resizing.
The screenshots clearly show Windows Phone 8 support for WhatsApp. The UI is basically the same which the Windows Phone 8 users with the messages stacked up over each other along with a sharp and crisp rectangular boxes which are the indicators of Windows Phone 8 interface.
Take a look at it on the screenshots below.
We do not have any info on the release date for WhatsApp although it should be in some weeks if not days, instead of months but if the developers decide to release the app along the Windows Phone 8, which is coming later this year we will have to wait many months to see the app in out Windows Phone devices.
