We first got a word about the WikiPad, in the start of this year, i.e., back in January. The WikiPad still in the prototype stage was the first glass-free 3D Android 4.0 tablet with a dedicated touch controller. There was some information available about the device but the overall specs, of the device were still not revealed.
But now we have some crisp details about the device because E3 has confirmed it to be unveiled in June. According to E3, it has been confirmed that the Wikipad will be powered by Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 SoC processor packed with 1GB RAM. The Wikipad has a 1.4GHz Tegra 3 chip with a 520MHz GPU, starting from 16GB of internal storage, 8MP main camera along with a 1.9MP front camera, a battery which can bear about 6hrs of continuous play. The Wikipad also has a 10.1-inch IPS display with 16:10 and 1,280 x 800 HD resolution. Despite of the claimed 3D display, the Wikipad, it seems it will be a 2D-only display. According to VentureBeat, the folks behind the Wikipad say future models may still have a 3D display.
As for the controls go, the Wikipad has a dedicated video-game controller with dual analog sticks on each side. Wikipad President James Bower has promised additional details on this gaming tablet in the coming future so stay tuned.
